Zelenskyy discusses diplomatic positions with Starmer

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has held a phone call with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

The leaders coordinated positions on the diplomatic track regarding Russia's war against Ukraine in order to reinvigorate substantive diplomacy."

Details: The Office of the President added that Zelenskyy and Starmer had agreed to maintain future contact.

Background:

• Zelenskyy reported on 20 May that Kyiv had had "productive" interactions with the US and said he hopes this could lead to the resumption of peace talks with Russia, including possible European involvement.
• Zelenskyy also said that Kyiv had conveyed its views to London regarding the UK government's decision to ease anti-Russian sanctions on diesel and aviation fuel produced from Russian crude oil.
