Russians strike railway stations in Fastiv: train services disrupted, timetables amended

Russian forces struck a key railway station in the city of Fastiv in Kyiv Oblast on the night of 5-6 December, prompting Ukraine's state-run railway operator Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) to make changes to train schedules.

Quote: "The enemy continues to conduct targeted strikes on railway infrastructure. The Fastiv junction station and commuter rolling stock were damaged overnight."

Details: No casualties have been reported, but commuter rail has been disrupted and operational changes are being implemented today.

Railway operators are also limiting suburban routes from Kyiv via Motovylivka, from Koziatyn via Kozhanka and from Myronivka via Fastiv-2.

Instead of the Kyiv to Fastiv-1 route, a shuttle service between Kyiv and Motovylika has been organised.

Regional train No. 892 from Fastiv to Slavutych will operate between Boiarka and Slavutych, with the timetable unchanged.

Services on the Zhytomyr and Vasylkiv lines will be temporarily suspended.

In addition, services between Chernihiv and Slavutych will not run due to the temporary replacement of rolling stock with units from Chernihiv.

"We are keeping as many trains running as possible in the oblast and ask passengers to carefully follow updates on Ukrzaliznytsia's official channels," the statement said.
