Russian forces attempt to infiltrate Lyman outskirts, difficult situation reported near Yampil and Ozerne – DeepState

DeepState, a Ukrainian group of military analysts, has reported that Russian forces are attempting to infiltrate the eastern outskirts of the city of Lyman in Donetsk Oblast and have warned of a difficult situation around the settlements of Yampil and Ozerne.

Quote: "There has recently been a great deal of discussion and many questions about Lyman. There have been reports of strikes in the eastern part of the city, which logically suggests that the Russians are infiltrating the area. Increased activity around the city has continued for some time, and given Russia's advances near Kostiantynivka, Lyman has become an increasingly important target. The Russians' numerical superiority and the low density of Ukrainian defence positions are enabling these infiltration attempts, which are nothing new."

Details:The Serebrianka Forest remains the main area of Russian activity and control. Russian units are moving, concealing themselves and establishing positions in the red and grey zones, from where they are attempting to advance further.

The overall situation inside Lyman remains stable. Activity has been recorded only on the eastern outskirts of the city. Isolated sightings have also been reported in the blue zone, but these are not systematic.

Ukrainian drone operators continue to successfully kill and wound Russian personnel, whom the Russian command is sending into assault operations in large numbers.

Quote: "However, the situation around Yampil and Ozerne is becoming extremely concerning. We hope the senior command will pay attention to this sector and take appropriate action so that we do not lose many people senselessly."

Background: The latest updates from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine indicate that the Lyman front remains one of the most intense sections of the line of contact. Russian forces are conducting dozens of attacks around the settlements of Yampil and Ozerne and towards Lyman in an attempt to break through Ukraine's defences.
