Man fatally shot in Walnut Park East neighborhood: Police
ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD) is investigating a fatal shooting that happened in the Walnut Park East neighborhood Tuesday afternoon.
According to SLMPD, officers were alerted to reports of gunfire in the intersection of West Florissant and Thrush shortly after 5 p.m.
Police say that when they arrived at the scene, they located a man who was shot.
SLMPD says the victim—whose identity has yet to be released—died from his injuries. FOX 2 has yet to learn what led to the deadly shooting, as information is currently limited at this time.
However, SLMPD announced that it has asked its homicide detectives to look into the shooting, and it has temporarily closed off West Florissant.
