Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is expected to attend the G7 summit in France at the end of June.

Source: Politico, a Brussels-based politics and policy news organisation, citing informed sources regarding Zelenskyy's invitation to the summit

Details: Three sources told Politico that Zelenskyy is expected to take part in the G7 summit.

He will join the heads of state and government of France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Canada, the UK and the US at the G7 summit in Évian-les-Bains.

One Politico source said Zelenskyy will discuss matters of military diplomacy and air defence measures to counter Russian ballistic missile attacks.

The report also noted that an adviser to the French president had said in March that Zelenskyy had not been invited to the G7 summit scheduled for 15-17 June.

Politico added that a spokesperson for France's Elysée presidential palace, which is organising the G7 meeting, has not responded to a request for comment.

Background: Valdis Dombrovskis, European Commissioner for Economy and Productivity, said G7 finance ministers will discuss Russia's war against Ukraine, the war in Iran and the situation involving the Strait of Hormuz at their meeting in Paris.
