Quote: "We have intelligence data indicating that Russia is preparing for a new massive attack.
It is important that all our partners know what is happening and that Russia continues to rely on missiles and further war, not diplomatic steps.
First of all, this means that additional sanctions pressure on Russia is needed and that the implementation of our air defense arrangements with partners cannot be delayed."
Details: Zelenskyy said he had discussed a number of priorities with Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.
Among the issues discussed were the measures that need to be taken in the coming weeks and the steps partners can take to strengthen Ukraine's defence.
"Anti-ballistic defence is the key task," Zelenskyy said.
Ukraine is also preparing detailed proposals for a new European sanctions package, as well as additional measures to prevent Russia from circumventing existing sanctions.
Background:
- On the night of 23-24 May, Russia launched a large-scale combined attack on Ukraine, using, according to the Air Force, 90 missiles and 600 drones of various types, including Oreshnik missiles.
- As of 24 May, authorities in Kyiv reported that two people had been killed and 78 injured as a result of the Russian attack.
