What's the best high school in Missouri? It's in St. Louis, according to one report
ST. LOUIS - The school year is back in full swing across the country, and a new report has ranked the top high schools among the St. Louis Metro area as well as the state.
According to new rankings from U.S. News & World Report, the best high school in Missouri is the Collegiate School of Medicine and Bioscience.
The school, located at the corner of Kingshighway Boulevard and Kemper Avenue, earned the top spot with students' performance regarding statewide tests, graduation rates and how well students are prepared for college, U.S. News & World Report said. Its overall score totaled to a 98.51 out of 100.
In addition to coming in first place in Missouri, the Collegiate School of Medicine and Bioscience also ranked number one among schools in the St. Louis Metropolitan area, as well as among the high schools in Saint Louis Public Schools.
Data from the report reflected that with a student population of 335, 84% had taken at least on Advanced Placement (AP) exam---58% of those passing at least one exam---and their graduation rate sits at 89%.
Their mathematics and science scores were higher than the district and state's averages, according to the report.
Nationally, the Collegiate School of Medicine and Bioscience ranked 267th.

- Second place: Clayton High School
- Fourth place: Ladue Horton Watkins High School
- Fifth place: Lafayette Sr. High School
- Sixth place: STEAM Academy at McCluer South-Berkeley High
- Seventh place: Ft. Zumwalt South High School
- Eighth place: Francis Howell High School
- Ninth place: Ft. Zumwalt West High School
