SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A man who was shot dead inside of a San Diego bar over the weekend has been identified by authorities.

According to San Diego Police Department, the violence unfolded shortly before 5:30 p.m. on Sunday when officers responded to reports of shots fired at a Gaslamp Quarter establishment, located at 701 Sixth Ave.

Once on scene, police found a man, 37-year-old Bryan Tyner, being detained by several people outside the building. The group identified him as the suspect of a shooting.

Meanwhile, a victim was located on the ground in a third-floor hallway area suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts, that individual, now identified as 46-year-old Antwan Bluthenthal (also known as Antwan Blu), died from his injuries.

The suspect was taken into custody on suspicion of murder.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation. At this point, it has been determined that both the victim and suspect visited the Cielo Rooftop Lounge on the fifth floor, which is accessed via an elevator on the third floor.

Police also mentioned that the third floor houses a comedy club, which was reportedly closed at the time of the shooting. Another bar, Mr. Tempo, is located on the first floor and also has access to the elevator.
