Venezuelan woman sentenced in St. Louis County crash that killed 11-year-old
ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - A Venezuelan woman, who authorities say was in the country illegally, has been sentenced in connection with a wrong-way crash that killed an 11-year-old boy.
The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office has sentenced Endrina Bracho, 34, to seven years in prison.
The crash happened on Dec. 20, 2023, on Dunn Road in Hazelwood. Investigators say Bracho was driving wrong way on a one-way road, twice the posted speed limit and without a valid driver's license or auto insurance coverage.
The crash took the life of Travis Wolfe, a passenger in the vehicle struck, just one day before his 12th birthday.
On July 14, Bracho pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree involuntary manslaughter and two counts of second-degree assault in connection with the crash. It was a blind plea with no agreement on a sentencing recommendation.
The court sentenced Bracho to seven years for manslaughter and five years for each assault charge with all sentences to run concurrently.
Bracho is an undocumented immigrant from Venezuela who faces deportation once she completes her sentence, according to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
