Vehicle slams into home in north St. Louis, second day in row vehicle crashes into home

ST. LOUIS - For the second consecutive day, a car has crashed into a home in the St. Louis region, causing significant damage and leaving families shaken.

The crash occurred around 2 a.m. on the 5800 block of Page Boulevard in north St. Louis, near the city's West End neighborhood.

The porch of the home was left heavily damaged after the crash and the city's building division were called to the scene to inspect the home out of caution.

Two people inside the crashed vehicle sustained minor injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital, police said. No other injuries were reported inside the home.

The incident comes less than 24 hours after a suspected drunk driver crashed a vehicle into two homes in north St. Louis County.

According to the St. Louis County Police Department, the crash happened shortly before 1:40 a.m. overnight Wednesday on the 10500 block of Murat Drive near Old Halls Ferry in north St. Louis County.

Despite the extensive damage to the homes on Murant Drive, no injuries were reported. The name of the suspected drunk driver has not been released, pending toxicology test results.

The Anthony family, who were asleep with their three-month-old baby during the Murant Drive crash, reported that their home sustained major damage. Tanekia Moore, another victim of the Murant Drive crash, expressed relief that everyone was safe.

"It's pretty emotional that could have killed us," Moore said. "Thankfully we have a really tall headboard and that kept some of the glass on us."

Police have not released the names of the two people involved in the crash on Page, and the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
