US Chargé d'Affaires ad interim in Ukraine Julie Davis has stated that she is in Kyiv, where Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal and House Representative Jim Himes have also been present for several days.

Quote: "I am, in fact, here in Kyiv in person. I am absolutely delighted that we have Senator Blumenthal, that we have Representative Himes here today. They have had an incredibly active and engaged couple of days."

Details: Davis also added that the members of Congress will continue their visit and attend the Black Sea Security Forum.

Background:

Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs earlier refuted a statement made by EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas in Cyprus on 28 May, in which she claimed that the US Embassy was the only one to have left Ukraine following Russian threats.
The US Embassy also denied having left Kyiv due to Russian threats.
