Ukrainian forces wipe out as many troops monthly as Russia mobilises, yet their grouping is growing – Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said Ukraine's defence forces wipe out the same number of troops each month as Russia mobilises, but Russian personnel numbers are currently growing as Moscow draws down its strategic reserves.

Quote: "Overall, we are seeing an interesting situation: although each month we wipe out the same number of occupiers as they mobilise, the size of their grouping on Ukrainian territory is growing. That is, we believe they are increasing their grouping by drawing in servicemen from strategic reserves."

Details: Zelenskyy described these actions as risky for Russia itself.

"We believe this is a risky step for the Russians, because by doing so they are weakening their borders with other states, and the situation there is not simple for them. Nevertheless, they have gone ahead with it," he said.

He also revealed that Russian forces want to seize the settlements of Druzhkivka, Kostiantynivka and Pokrovsk by the end of April.

Quote: "This is impossible, but it is not the first time they have set some kind of deadline and now they have set themselves this target. I have already spoken about the meeting with British intelligence – we have a relationship of trust with them – they also see no possibility for the Russians to do this."
