Details: The company said Ukrainian missile engineering experts are being involved in this major industrial project. BlueBird Tech and the design bureau have already progressed to the stage of working on the first engineering tasks.
The decision was described as a response to current frontline challenges and the need to scale up Ukraine's high-precision and technologically advanced strike capabilities.
Quote: "Russia uses hundreds of guided aerial bombs every day. Ukraine must respond no less effectively. We see strong demand for such systems and understand how important they are in modern warfare. Therefore, our first priority will be to start mass-producing Ukrainian-made guided aerial bombs."
Background:
- In April, BlueBird Tech announced the launch of a missile development division focused on creating air defence systems. The company said the new area of work would involve developing air defence systems capable of intercepting not only enemy drones, but also cruise and ballistic missiles.
- On 18 May, Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov reported that Ukraine's first domestically developed guided aerial bomb was ready for combat use.
