Ukraine's General Staff elaborates on results of strike on Dubna space communications centre in Moscow

Ukraine's General Staff has reported that a satellite communications facility and a nearby technical building were damaged in a recent strike on the Dubna space communications centre in Moscow.

Quote: "New data has emerged regarding the results of the strike on the space communications centre in Moscow Oblast on the night of 21-22 June 2026. Additional analysis has confirmed a hit on the modular hardware unit of the 32-metre MARK-IV antenna used for satellite communications and on a technical building located next to the antenna."

Details: The General Staff also confirmed damage to the main production and administrative facility that features integrated hardware and software systems, including the partial destruction of one of its walls. "This building houses the central communications node, elements of the ground control segment and the main control centre of the satellite communications network," the General Staff explained.

For reference: The Dubna space communications centre is located in northern Moscow. It is one of the facilities responsible for operating satellite communication and broadcasting channels. The centre is used for military communications and for controlling satellite relay systems employed by the Russian Defence Ministry for communications, intelligence gathering and troop coordination.

Background: On 21 June and on the night of 21-22 June, Ukraine's defence forces struck a number of Russian military facilities, including the space communications centre in Moscow.
