Ukraine strengthens defence cooperation with Estonia
Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko has reported on a meeting with Estonian President Alar Karis in Tallinn and an agreement to strengthen defence cooperation.

We agreed to strengthen defenсe cooperation, specifically in the area of unmanned aerial systems, and to maintain a continuous exchange of experience in responding to security challenges."
Details: Svyrydenko also noted that Estonia continues to support Ukraine's energy sector, with its contribution to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund having exceeded €2.6 million.
She also wrote that Estonian officials discussed "further strengthening sanctions pressure on Russia, including work on the 21st sanctions package and efforts to counter the shadow fleet". Svyrydenko additionally reported that separate attention was being given to the work of the Bring Kids Back UA initiative for the return of Ukrainian children unlawfully taken to Russia.
Background:
- In April, Karis stated that Europe had the opportunity to begin peace negotiations with Russia when Ukrainian forces drove the occupation troops back from the outskirts of the capital in spring 2022, but had missed that opportunity.
- Earlier this year, Karis and Latvian Prime Minister Evika Siliņa called for the appointment of an EU special representative for negotiations with Russia.
