Ukraine signs defense pact with Saudi Arabia after its experts spent week finding holes in region’s air defenses
Ukraine and Saudi Arabia have signed a defense cooperation agreement amid the aerial threats from Iran, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announces. The document opens the way for joint contracts, technological projects, and security-related investments.
According to the President, the agreement was signed ahead of a meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, forming the foundation for long-term military cooperation.
Ukraine has already sent its experts to Saudi Arabia. They have already delivered their initial findings on strengthening air defense. Their work covers both the operational level, directly countering threats, and broader approaches to organizing defense.

Ukrainian leading combat experience goes global
Ukraine is ready to share practical experience in countering aerial attacks, developed under constant bombardment of cities.
This includes defense against ballistic missiles and strike drones, threats that countries in the Middle East currently face from Iran.
President Zelenskyy emphasizes that Ukraine’s air defense system has already proven its effectiveness in real combat conditions. Over the four years of war, Russia has launched more than 58,000 Iranian-designed drones.
At the same time, Saudi Arabia possesses resources and technologies that are of strategic interest to Ukraine.
From Kyiv to Riyadh: Deal establishes cooperation with defense projects
The parties also discussed regional threats, including Iran’s role and Russia's support, as well as the situation in energy markets and fuel security.
Kyiv expects the agreement to evolve into concrete, practical solutions, ranging from joint development to defense contracts.
