Ukraine confirms shutdown of Russian Syzran refinery and reports new strikes

The Ukrainian defence forces reported strikes on a number of important Russian military facilities in occupied territories and confirmed the shutdown of the Syzran Oil Refinery in Samara Oblast.

Details: According to the General Staff, on 25 May and on the night of 25-26 May Ukrainian forces struck a Russian command post in Ocheretyne, Donetsk Oblast, and a regimental command post in Verkhnia Krynytsia, Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

Ground control stations used by Russian forces near Nesterianka, Zaporizhzhia Oblast, and Novohrodivka, Donetsk Oblast, were also hit.

In addition, Ukrainian forces struck a Russian drone warehouse and a logistics depot near Novopetrykivka, Donetsk Oblast, as well as another logistics warehouse in the city of Donetsk.

A railway fuel tanker near Debaltseve, Donetsk Oblast, was also hit.

The military added that the effects of previous strikes had confirmed the shutdown of the Syzran oil refinery in the city of Syzran (Russia's Samara Oblast), which Ukrainian forces attacked on 21 May 2026.

The Yaroslavl linear production and dispatch station was also struck on 25 May, damaging equipment and fuel tanks.

Additionally, Ukrainian forces confirmed a successful strike on 24 May on the Russian 1L125 Niobiy-SV radar station near Yarsk, Luhansk Oblast.

"The Ukrainian defence forces will continue systematically taking measures to force the Russian Federation to stop its armed aggression against Ukraine," the General Staff said.
