Two killed and 23 injured in Russian drone strike on residential area in Zaporizhzhia

Two people were killed and 23 others were injured, including six children, in a Russian drone attack on a residential area in the city of Zaporizhzhia on 8 June.

Five people were initially reported to have been injured. The number injured later rose to 15.

Update: Fedorov later reported that two children are among those injured

Two brothers aged 11 and 13 were injured in the Russian attack. Medical staff provided the boys with the necessary treatment.

The Russians also damaged retail units and caused houses to catch fire.

Update: At 18:09, Fedorov reported that the number of people injured had risen to 18.

Quote: "Eighteen people required medical treatment, including four children aged 5, 10, 13 and 12, a 17-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl."

More details: At 19:18, Fedorov reported that the number of people injured in the Russian attack had risen to 23.
