Two in custody after 16-year-old shot, killed in Midtown
ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department announced that two individuals are in custody following a fatal shooting in Midtown Monday evening.
According to police, shots were fired in a parking lot in the 3800 block of Laclede Ave. just after 7 p.m. Officers found a 16-year-old with multiple gunshot wounds who was pronounced dead at the scene.
SLMPD identified the teen as Darrell Price Tuesday.
Additionally, a 20-year-old man suffered from non-life-threatening gunshot injuries.
A preliminary investigation led police to believe that the victims and suspects knew each other, and that marijuana was involved with a potential robbery. SLMPD spokesperson Mitch McCoy said it is unclear who fired shots.
The injured 20-year-old was taken into custody. An 18-year-old man also surrendered to police, according to officials.
The Circuit's Attorney Office is coordinating with detectives. Homicide investigators were at the scene Tuesday continuing their investigation.
