Trump on aid to Ukrainians: I give them nothing, while NATO countries buy US weapons at full price
US President Donald Trump has boasted that during his presidency, not only is the United States not spending money supporting Ukraine against Russia but is profiting from it, while reiterating that he wants the killings to stop.

Quote: "Joe Biden gave them [Ukrainians] US$350 billion. And I gave them nothing. Well, I did give them Javelins at the beginning and knocked out a hell of a lot of attacks, and Obama gave sheets."
Details: Trump believes that the situation now is "great", but there is one problem: "You got a lot of people dying and I want to see that stop."
He again claimed that 27,000 soldiers were killed in Ukraine over the past month – "mostly Ukrainian soldiers and Russian soldiers".
Meanwhile, Trump noted that the US sells its weapons to NATO countries "at full price" and NATO passes them on to Ukraine.
Quote: "I guess they could give it to others too, but for the most part give it to Ukraine and they're working with Ukraine in terms of distribution of equipment, missiles, etc. But we aren't spending money. What we are doing is spending time on a humane basis."
Background:
- Trump claimed that Russia "is fine with" the "peace plan", while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has not even read it.
- Rustem Umierov, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, was briefed in the United States about the American delegation's meeting with Russian officials in Moscow and intends to report on all aspects of the dialogue to Zelenskyy, as well as hand over the relevant documents.
- Oleksandr Merezhko, Chair of the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian Parliament) Foreign Affairs Committee, refuted Trump's claim that Zelenskyy had not read the "peace plan" proposed by the US side.
- Zelenskyy stated that the participants in the negotiations on the "peace plan" – the US, Russia and Ukraine – do not have a unified position regarding Donbas.
