Three separate shootings in STL City leave 1 dead, 5 injured

ST. LOUIS - Police are investigating three separate shootings within 30 minutes of each other in the city of St. Louis Sunday evening, leaving one person dead and five others injured.

The shootings happened Sunday evening and occurred in different parts of the city.

The first shooting happened around 8 p.m. Sunday evening near Cherokee and Nebraska at the border of south St. Louis' Benton Park West and Gravois Park neighborhoods.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD), there were at least four people injured in the shooting. Police say some of the victims were privately transported to a hospital for treatment, with three in stable condition and one critically injured.

The second shooting happened around 8:25 p.m. on the 3600 block of Hamilton in north St. Louis' Wells-Goodfellow neighborhood. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. According to police, the man was left critically injured from the shooting.

The third shooting occurred around 8:30 p.m. on the 4200 block of Cote Brilliante in north St. Louis' The Ville neighborhood. According to SLMPD, a man, Michael Durley, 31, was found shot at the scene and later died from his injuries after EMS attempted life-saving care. Homicide detectives are investigating this case.

As of Monday morning, investigations into all three shootings are ongoing, and no arrests have been made. There is currently no indication that the shootings are connected, although two occurred within north St. Louis' 5th District.
