Threat against North County school 'unfounded'

VISTA, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A school threat was deemed unfounded Wednesday at Guajome Park Academy in Vista.

On Tuesday around 8 p.m., deputies were informed about a possible threat at the school located at 2000 North Santa Fe Avenue, the San Diego County Sheriff's Office said in a news release Wednesday.

Guajome Park Academy administrators were notified Tuesday of the potential threat, prompting a safety plan to be developed at the school for Wednesday, according to SDSO.

With an increased law enforcement present on campus, detectives were able to contact a student related to the threats. The student's parents were contacted at their residence, where authorities later conducted a search and no weapons were found.

There were also no weapons found at the school and the threat was determined unfounded.
