Things to do in San Diego on Labor Day weekend
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Still looking for plans this Labor Day weekend? Here are some things to do across San Diego:
San Diego 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb
This annual event, held on Saturday at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel, aims to honor first responders who lost their lives during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. The community is invited to participate by climbing 110 flights of stairs, which is equivalent to the height of the World Trade Center. Fundraising efforts are also taking place by way of this memorial.
San Diego Made Summer Market
This event, taking place in Liberty Station both Saturday and Sunday, will feature over 120 local curated makers. Entry is $5 for adults, while children age 10 and under are free. While exploring all that the vendors have to offer, attendees can also enjoy food, drinks, live music, workshops, as well as an interactive art and play area.
Party at The Pool House
The rooftop of Pendry San Diego, a boutique hotel in the Gaslamp Quarter, is inviting guests to enjoy Labor Day weekend poolside. On Sunday, the Aperol Spritz will be flowing as local DJ Sam Blacky brings the tunes and sets the vibe. There will also be sets by Edris Omar, ArnieBoyz and Jess Zaper. Doors open at noon and party won't stop until 6 p.m.
Jazz Brunch Yacht Cruise
Alto saxophone jazz specialist Charlie Arbelaez is set to perform for a Sunday brunch cruise in the San Diego Bay. While aboard the Nerissa Yacht, guests can sip complimentary champagne and enjoy a variety of bites — all while listening to a live jazz performance. The cruise begins at 11:30 a.m. and lasts for roughly two hours.
Pacific Classic: A Million Dollar Race in Del Mar
This is considered one of the most prestigious events at Del Mar Racetrack during the summer season. It draws top-class thoroughbreds for a chance to win the major purse and secure an automatic entry into the Breeders' Cup Classic. Now in its 35th running year, the Pacific Classic will take place on Saturday.
WNDR San Diego Farewell Bash
This weekend marks the final days of WNDR San Diego, an interactive museum in the Gaslamp Quarter that's gained popularity over the last two years. The Farewell Bash will run from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday. The evening will feature local vendors, live DJ sets from Beazie Beats, and immersive art installations — all part of a vibrant send-off designed to honor the museum’s impact on San Diego’s art scene.
Have a good weekend, San Diego.
