Teen motorcyclist and elderly driver killed in collision
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A collision in the Sabre Springs neighborhood claimed the lives of two people early Friday following a crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV, authorities said.

San Diego Police said the crash happened at the intersection of Poway Road and Sabre Springs Parkway shortly after midnight when an 18-year-old woman riding a Yamaha motorcycle eastbound on Poway Road ran a red light and struck a Mitsubishi Montero SUV.
The SUV, driven by a 72-year-old man, was turning left onto Poway Road from Sabre Springs Parkway and had a green arrow signal at the time, according to authorities. The motorcycle collided with the driver’s side of the SUV.
First responders declared the 18-year-old motorcyclist dead at the scene. The SUV driver was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
