Teen killed in Wentzville I-70 crash
UPDATE: All lanes of I-70 have been reopened, according to officials.
ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. - One person was killed in a crash along Interstate 70 Monday morning in Wentzville.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 17-year-old boy from Belleville, Illinois, was traveling eastbound on I-70 around 11:30 a.m. this morning. The teen lost control of the vehicle, drove through the median and cable barrier.
His car went into the westbound lanes, where it was struck in the passenger side by another vehicle traveling westbound.
The teen was pronounced dead at the scene.
Traffic was shut down for an extended period of time after the crash, Wentzville Police Department said. The interstate has since reopened as of 3 p.m.
