Teen hospitalized after overnight fire in Byrnes Mill

JEFFERSON COUNTY, MO. - A teen was left hospitalized early Friday morning after being pulled from an overnight trailer fire in Byrnes Mill.

The fire broke out around 3 a.m. on the 6800 block of Heatherwood Drive.

Police say a trailer caught on fire and trapped a 15-year-old boy with autism inside. Officers attempted to get the teen out of the trailer but were unable to until firefighters arrived.

According to the Byrnes Mill Fire Captain, the teen was transported to a hospital in critical condition after the fire. Other family members in the trailer were able to make it out safely.
