ST. LOUIS - A St. Louis man is facing over 20 charges for allegedly burglarizing businesses in August.

According to a probable cause statement, Devin Marcee “began smashing glass doors of businesses, going inside, and stealing items in the store that were for sale and pulling register drawers from the registers looking for money.”

Prosecuting attorneys allege that Marcee committed these crimes between Aug. 17 and Aug. 29. They also suspect these burglaries were carried out by one person.

Officials say in one incident on Aug. 20 at a CNC Bank located at 9111 Mackenzie Road, the suspect attempted to steal an ATM machine by wrapping it around a chain and attaching it to the bumper of a vehicle that was ready to take off.

The ATM machine did not break free, but it sustained over $50,000 worth of damages.

Marcee was eventually arrested on Aug. 29, and police say when he was caught, he was inside a stolen vehicle.

And during the arrest, law enforcement say they seized a stolen drawer from a cash register that belonged to one of the shops targeted by the suspect.

Court records say Marcee faces a multitude of charges, including 18 counts of second-degree burglary.

He remains in custody at the City Justice Center under a no 10% $250,000 bond.
