St. Louis man drowns in private lake in Bollinger County
BOLLINGER COUNTY, Mo. – A St. Louis man drowned over the weekend at a private lake in rural southern Missouri.
According to a drowning incident report filed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the drowning happened Saturday around 12:30 p.m., just four miles north of Patton, in Bollinger County.
The highway patrol said the man was swimming in the lake when he went under and failed to resurface. He was eventually pulled from the lake and declared dead at the scene by the Bollinger County Coroner’s Office just before 1:45 p.m. He was 30.
The report stated the man was not wearing a life jacket at the time.
