St. Louis man accused of groping dog walker
ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis Circuit Court judge signed an arrest warrant Tuesday for a man who allegedly groped a woman over the weekend.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s probable cause statement, the crime happened on the night of Aug. 11 in the 1700 block of Washington Avenue, in the city’s Downtown West neighborhood.
Police said the victim left her apartment to walk her dog. While on her walk, a man came up behind her, wrapped his arm around her waist, and slipped his hand under her dress and touched her genitals.
The assailant pushed the victim to the ground and ran off, police said.
Officers used a description of the attacker to locate and arrest Mark Lindsey, 36. Police said the victim identified Lindsey in person and in a photo lineup.
The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged Lindsey with first-degree sexual abuse and fourth-degree assault.
