ST. LOUIS - Our amazing late August weather continues Friday and for the holiday weekend.

High temperatures Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are expected to be in the low to mid 80s. A weak cold front will slide through the area on Friday. Expect more clouds in the afternoon and a small chance of a shower or two.

The forecast stays dry until late Tuesday or Wednesday when another strong cold front drops in from the north. That front will deliver another shot of early fall-like weather.

The recent dry weather has pushed the southern half of the region into unusually dry to low end drought conditions. With little substantial rain in the forecast, the dry ground conditions are likely to worsen and expand through next week. Watering of lawns, gardens, and flowerpots will have to continue as part of the Labor Day weekend fun.
