Special Elections on Aug. 5: What to know

ST. LOUIS - Tuesday marks a special election day for a few counties within the St. Louis region. Below is a list of what will be on the ballot and important information to know.

St. Louis County

Voters will be able to go to one of the eight polling locations throughout the county Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. To see your specific ballot, click here.

  • City of Clayton Ward 3 Alderperson
    • Kami Waldman

  • City of Florissant Ward 8 Council Member
    • Tanya Parson
  • Eureka Fire Protection District Proposition F
    • "Shall the board of directors of the Eureka Fire Protection District be authorized to levy an additional tax of not more than thirty four cents on the one hundred dollars assessed valuation to provide funds for the support of the district?"
  • 24:1 Transportation Development District Proposition 24
    • "Shall there be organized within the municipal boundaries of City of Normandy, City of Greendale, City of Bellerive Acres, Village of Uplands Park, City of Pasadena Hills, City of Vinita Park, City of Beverly Hills, Village of Norwood Court, City of Bel-Nor, Village of Pasadena Park, Village of Hanley Hills, City of Velda Village Hills, City of Pagedale, City of Pine Lawn, City of Wellston, City of Velda City and Village of Hillsdale, all located in the State of Missouri (as such municipal boundaries may be adjusted or changed from time to time as a result of any subsequent boundary adjustment or boundary change, collectively the "Boundaries"), a transportation development district, to be known as the 24:1 Transportation Development District for the purpose of developing the following transportation projects: (i) maintenance and capital improvement of all streets and roadways within the Boundaries of the participating municipalities; and (ii) special projects that qualify as a project within the meaning of the Missouri Transportation Development District Act and that involve one or more participating municipalities and that are intended for dedication and/or future maintenance to one or more of the participating municipalities, the Bi-State Development Agency of the Missouri-Illinois Metropolitan District, St. Louis County, Missouri, or the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission, and be authorized to impose a transportation development district-wide sales tax at a rate of one percent (1 %) for a period of up to 40 years from the date on which such tax is first imposed for the purpose of funding the transportation projects?

Winfield, Missouri

Voting polls will open at 6 a.m. at the Winfield-Foley Fire Station #1 at 3937 E Hwy 47 or the Lincoln County Courthouse at 201 Main St. in Troy. Voters can cast their ballot until 7 p.m.

  • Proposition Fire
    • "Shall the board of directors of the Winfield Foley Fire Protection District be authorized to levy an additional tax of thirty-seven (37) cents per one hundred dollars assessed valuation to provide funds for the support of the district? This support includes the district's transition from volunteer to paid firefighting staff, implementing cancer prevention measures, and enhancing firefighter training; thereby providing consistent emergency response and reducing response times to save lives and property."
