Small plane makes emergency landing on I-15 freeway

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A small plane made an emergency landing Monday on Interstate 15.

The incident occurred around 4:48 p.m. on northbound I-15 near the Balboa Avenue exit, according to California Highway Patrol's log.

The San Diego Fire-Rescue Department confirmed the plane did not crash and that there were no injuries.

Video obtained by FOX 5/KUSI shows the plane landing in between the center divide and the fast lane as traffic moved past the aircraft.

The pilot and passenger of that plane did not want to speak to FOX 5/KUSI as the plane had some sort of mechanical emergency.

SkyFOX/KUSI in the Sky was over the scene where traffic was stalled due to the emergency landing.

The plane was towed and removed safely off the freeway during the evening hours.
