Shots fired near Duchesne High School prompt lockdown, suspect arrested
ST. CHARLES, Mo. - Police arrested a suspect Thursday afternoon accused of firing shots near Duchesne High School, prompting a brief lockdown.
The St. Charles Police Department reports that shots were fired around 10:49 a.m. in the 500 block of North Duchesne Drive, less than half a mile from the high school.
Upon arrival, police established a perimeter around a home and notified a school, prompting a lockdown "out of precaution."
Around 12:25 p.m., the wanted suspect came out of a home and surrendered to police. While investigating, officers found evidence that a gun was fired near the location.
Police have not disclosed the age or identity of the suspect. Charges are being sought through the St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, but have not yet been filed.
No injuries were reported amid this investigation.
