Ships ahoy! Disney announces upcoming San Diego cruise line itineraries
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Travelers can expect more cruise ships sailing out of San Diego starting next fall! Disney Cruise Line recently announced two of its ships, the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder, will have trips out of America's Finest City.
Starting next October, the Disney Magic will offer voyages ranging from three-to-seven nights from San Diego before it heads to Galveston, Texas, in November.
The Disney Wonder will also set sail from San Diego in October 2026, with destinations ranging from Catalina Island, Cabo San Lucas, Ensenada, and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Guests can choose from itineraries including a Baja cruise to Ensenada, Mexico, a Mexican Riviera cruise to Cabo San Lucas or a Pacific Coast cruise to Vancouver, B.C., Canada -- all departing from San Diego.
Both Disney cruise ships feature live entertainment, modern amenities and themed restaurants, all geared toward families and guests of all ages.
The Disney Wonder offers live jazz and Louisiana-style cuisine inspired by the animated film, "The Princess and the Frog," plus a sea-themed restaurant inspired by the palace of Ariel's father, King Triton, from "The Little Mermaid."
The Disney Magic, on the other hand, offers Broadway-style shows such as "Tangled: The Musical" and "Twice Charmed: An Original Twist on the Cinderella Story." It also features the AquaDunk, a twisting water slide that sends guests over the side of the ship before they splash three stories down and out of the tube.
Pearl, Platinum, Gold or Silver Castaway Club members, eligible Disney Vacation Club members or Adventure Insiders may book the new cruise trips during a select number of early booking dates. More information on the booking dates can be found on the Disney Cruise Line website.
The trips go on sale to the general public starting Tuesday, Sept. 2.
