SDFC's Anders Dreyer named MLS Player of the Month for August
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- San Diego FC forward Anders Dreyer is making a name for himself this Major League Soccer season.
On Friday, the team announced Dreyer was voted the MLS Player of the Month for August -- his second time earning the honor he received in June.
The Danish international tallied three goals and two assists, resulting in SDFC's 3-0-1 record in the month of August.
In the three wins, Dreyer produced the game-winning assist at Sporting Kansas City (Aug. 9), as well as the game-winning goals at the San Jose Earthquakes (Aug. 17) and at LAFC (Aug. 31).
Dreyer has compiled a league-best 32 goal contributions this season (14 goals, 18 assists).
SDFC also clinched a spot in the Audi 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs after a draw against the Portland Timbers on Aug. 24, becoming the fastest expansion club to reach the postseason in their inaugural season.
The team sits in first place in the Western Conference with 56 points (17 wins, 5 draws and 7 losses).
Their next game is Saturday, Sept. 13, at home against Minnesota United FC.
