Scattered rain and storm chances throughout the weekend, not as hot

ST. LOUIS - After a dry, hot pattern that brought us eight straight days on 90+ temperatures, the weather is changing.

It will be a bit unsettled for Friday, the weekend, and early next week, though no all day rain is expected. The occasional rain and dip and temperatures will be welcomed by many, but many weekend events and festivals could be impacted at times.

Friday starts with scattered showers and storms. These will push east into and through the morning commute. After a break, scattered showers and storms may redevelop Friday afternoon and early evening. It won’t be as hot Friday, with highs in the mid to upper 80s.

Saturday continues to look dry and warm, but watch for some evening thunderstorms. Temperature high will be in the mid to upper 80s.

A series of disturbances in the atmosphere will bring waves of rain and storms Sunday through Wednesday. We are keeping a watch late Sunday into Monday and Tuesday night into Wednesday, especially.

With the clouds and rain, temperatures should cool a bit more early next week. It will not be raining all the time.
