Sam Page's trial to be moved to southwest Missouri
ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - St. Louis County Executive Sam Page will likely face trial on his election-related indictment in southwest Missouri.
According to Missouri court records, prosecutors and Page's defense attorney jointly filed for a change of venue from St. Louis County to Greene County on Sept. 5.
In July, a grand jury indicted Page on two counts of committing Class Four election offenses, one count of stealing $25,000 or more, and one count of stealing $750 or more. The indictment stems from allegations that Page used public funds on a flyer opposing Proposition B, a county ballot measure last April.
Page has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
If convicted of stealing ($25,000 or more), a felony charge, Page could face up to 10 years in prison, according to state sentencing guidelines.
Page has served as the St. Louis County Executive since April 29, 2019, taking office after the resignation of his predecessor, Steve Stenger.
