Russia's daytime strike tops overnight drone attack as UAVs fly in columns – Ukrainian Air Force

Russia is carrying out one of its heaviest large-scale attacks on Ukraine on 24 March, as more than 400 attack drones entered Ukrainian airspace during the day and some strikes hit multiple locations.

Details: Ihnat said Russia continued its aerial terror after the Air Force released its morning report on the results of the overnight combined attack.

From 09:00 until 15:00, more than 400 attack drones entered Ukrainian airspace from the south, north and across the contact line, while 392 Russian drones were recorded between 18:00 on 23 March and 09:00 on 24 March.

Quote: "A large number of drones entered from the north, from Chernihiv and Sumy oblasts. They were virtually moving in columns. The geography of the daytime strike was broader than at night: Poltava, Kyiv, Vinnytsia oblasts and the western oblasts from Khmelnytskyi to Lviv. This appears to have been one of the heaviest attacks over the course of a day [if the period is counted from 18:00 on Monday 23 March]."

Details: Ihnat said the Air Force will release a more detailed report on the results of air defence operations at 18:00 on Tuesday 24 March. All available assets are being used to repel the ongoing Russian attack, from aircraft to short-range air defence systems and mobile fire groups.

The Russians also continue to terrorise frontline oblasts with guided aerial bombs, particularly in the east and north of the country.
