Details: DeepState reported on the evening of 8 December that Russian forces had captured five villages in Donetsk Oblast.
The villages are Lysivka, Sukhyi Yar, Hnativka, Rih and Novopavlivka.
Later, DeepState reported that the situation near Siversk is getting worse.
Quote: "The enemy continues to push its infantry into the town and the situation is currently developing in a far from positive way as Siversk is slowly falling into enemy hands.
Early reports indicated that half of the settlement is under enemy control."
Details: After that, DeepState reported the capture of Kamianske in Zaporizhzhia Oblast and continued assaults on Stepnohirsk and Plavni.
Quote: "Stepnohirsk is holding on with difficulty, but still holding. The enemy has occupied Plavni and is fighting in Prymorske."
Background:
- Ukraine's defence forces withdrew from some positions near the cities of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad several weeks ago, including in the area of the villages of Sukhyi Yar and Lysivka. This has reduced the semi-encirclement "pocket".
- DeepState reported on 2 December that Russian forces had occupied the village of Kozatske (formerly known as Moskovske) and advanced in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad in Donetsk Oblast as well as near Kamianske in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
