Five people have been killed and 65 injured in an overnight Russian missile and drone strike on Kyiv.

Update: After 11:00, Pop said during the national joint 24/7 newscast that the death toll from the Russian strike had risen to five.

"Information has currently been confirmed that five people were killed as a result of the overnight attack," she said.

Klitschko clarified that the fifth person killed in the attack was a man who died in hospital.

Details: The mayor added that the number of people injured had risen to 65, including three children aged 3, 11 and 17.

Pop said that two power engineers were also among those injured.

Details: The State Emergency Service added that a strike on a nine-storey residential building in the Podilskyi district had caused the partial collapse of the upper floors. People may be trapped under the rubble. Rescue operations are ongoing.

Cars also caught fire in an open area in this district and a fire broke out in a four-storey building on premises belonging to an educational institution.
