Details: Explosions were reported in the city at around 03:00. Local residents posted photos and videos showing several fire outbreaks and a thick column of smoke rising above the refinery. Early reports indicate that the refinery's isomerisation unit was hit.
Local authorities have not yet commented on the consequences of the attack. Saratov Oblast Governor Roman Busargin only reported a drone threat in the region.
The Saratov oil refinery is part of the Rosneft oil company and is one of the oldest oil-processing facilities in the Volga region. It supplies fuel to the Russian forces.
There have also been reports of a strike on an oil depot in the settlement of Matveyev Kurgan in Rostov Oblast.
