Details: The regional government reported on 30 May that Gleb Nikitin, Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, signed a decree amending the structure of the regional government.
Quote from the government: "The key change will be the creation of a new executive body, the Ministry for the Protection of Facilities of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. It, as well as the region's Ministry of Energy and Housing and Utilities, will be overseen by Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Tuzhilin...".
More details: The decree also brings two officials under the supervision of one of the deputy governors. The powers of one of these officials include "overseeing issues related to the special military operation" [Russian propaganda term for the war in Ukraine – ed.].
For reference: The distance from Nizhny Novgorod to the Ukrainian border is more than 600 km.
