Russia shared coordinates of 55 Israeli energy sites with Iran – Jerusalem Post
Russian intelligence has provided Iran with a detailed list of 55 critical energy infrastructure sites in Israel that could be targeted with high-precision missile strikes.

Details: The report, which points to deepening military and intelligence cooperation between Moscow and Tehran, claims the information would enable Iran to conduct highly accurate strikes on Israel's energy system.
All potential targets were divided into three categories based on their strategic importance.
The first category includes key power generation facilities, the destruction of which could paralyse the national energy system. The Orot Rabin power station is mentioned as a priority target.
The second category includes major urban and industrial energy hubs in central Israel.
The third category consists of local infrastructure, including regional substations for industrial zones and smaller power plants.
Russian intelligence considers Israel's energy system vulnerable due to its high level of isolation. As Israel is an "energy island" that does not import electricity from neighbouring countries, damaging even a few key components could lead to a large-scale and prolonged power outage, with consequences that would be difficult to mitigate.
Quote: "Ukrainian officials maintain that the motive behind the intelligence transfer is twofold: to embolden its primary ally in the region and to create a fresh crisis in the Middle East that would divert international attention and resources away from the war in Ukraine."
Background:
- US President Donald Trump has repeatedly warned that the US could strike power plants, bridges and other infrastructure in Iran if Tehran does not reach an agreement or reopen the Strait of Hormuz by the evening of Tuesday 7 April.
- Trump said he is not concerned that such strikes on civilian infrastructure could be considered war crimes.
- Sources cited by Axios reported that Trump's administration had presented Iran with several proposals, but Tehran rejected them. Iranian officials indicated they do not want to end up in a situation similar to Gaza or Lebanon, where ceasefires exist on paper but attacks could resume at any time.
