Ready, Set, Weekend: St. Louis Events Oct. 10-12

ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis region is preparing for the weekend, which is set to feature a boatload of events throughout the area. From the Soulard Oktoberfest to Brew in the Lou, residents have a wide lineup of events they can choose to attend this weekend.

Below is a list of some events happening around the St. Louis area:

Soulard Oktoberfest: Oct. 10-12

  • Located at Soulard Market Park
  • Friday: 3:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Saturday: 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

This high-energy, family-friendly festival brings the spirit of Bavaria to the heart of the Midwest, complete with authentic German beer, traditional food, live music, and festive fun for all ages. The event is free to the public, but VIP tent tickets (21+) are available.

Maeystown Oktoberfest: Oct. 12

  • Located in Maeystown, Ill., around the Stone Mill and Bridge
  • 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Experience the sounds and smells of Autumn with great food, arts, crafts, and antiques. More than 60 artisans will be featured. Food will include turtle soup, potato pancakes, popcorn cooked in old-fashioned kettles, bratwurst, apple butter, and pies. The village specialty shops, bed & breakfast, restaurants, and museum will be open.

Brew in the Lou: Oct. 11

  • Located at Francis Park in south St. Louis

A one-stop tasting of St. Louis’s best beer, wine, spirits, homebrew, and food favorites Over 80 tasting and vendor stations will line the banks of The Lily Pond, General Admission Tickets are $65 day-of-event and include unlimited beer & food tastings while supplies last and a keepsake commemorative glass. The Funky Butt Brass Band will perform.

Belleville Chili Cook-off: Oct. 10 & 11

  • Located in downtown Belleville, Ill.
  • 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. both days

This event has featured the culinary creations of individuals, local organizations, and area businesses for more than 39 years. More than half of the vendors participating each year are either non-profit organizations or businesses raising money for a charity. In addition, attendees can vote in the People's Choice contest for their favorite chili for $1 per vote. 100% of the proceeds are donated to the Community Interfaith Food Pantry in Belleville.

Witches Night Out: Oct. 11

  • Located in Kimmswick, Mo.

Ladies, it’s time to hex the stress and conjure up a night to remember. The streets of Kimmswick come alive with cackles, cocktails, and a cauldron full of fun for witches 21 and up. Come dressed to slay (witch hats, capes, fishnets—yes, please) or just bring your untamed spirit.

Fright at the Museum: Oct. 10-12

  • City Museum in downtown St. Louis

Take fright and fun to a new level this season at City Museum with unique experiences for all ages every Wednesday-Sunday through October 26.

Fireside shows at the Theatre of the Oddities will thrill guests. Want to connect to the spirit world? Live seances will be held on Friday and Saturday evenings. For the little ones or more timid folks of all ages, Not-So-Spooky Storytelling sessions with the City Museum witch will spin slightly terrifying tales on Saturdays and Sundays.

Circus Harmony transforms into the Happy Haunted Harmony Circus during the Fright at the Museum celebration.

PumpkinFest: Oct. 11

  • Located at the Monroe County Courthouse in Waterloo, Ill.
  • 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Lots of pumpkin-themed contests and activities throughout the day. So grab your shopping bag, walk the booths, enjoy food from local eateries, music from local musicians, and prepare to have some good, old-fashioned family fun.

The Waterloo, IL Haunted Trail will also be open.

BOOterfly House: Oct. 10-12

  • Located at the Sachs Butterfly House at Faust Park in Chesterfield
  • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This October, slink on over as the Butterfly House becomes the BOOterfly House! Come face to face with fantastic insect friends and learn how animals, like scorpions and tarantulas, are not so creepy after all.
