Proud to Serve: St. Louis Firefighter receives $500 for his service to the community
ST. LOUIS - Each month on FOX 2, we salute local first responders, military, or veterans with our Proud to Serve award. This month, we shine the spotlight on Charlie Metzner, who serves his community of St. Louis, MO as a firefighter as well as the founder of the St. Louis Hero Network and Code 3 Contracting, which hires military veterans and firefighters.

He consistently goes above and beyond the call of duty. He works relentless hours and always puts others first. He is the founder of the St. Louis Hero Network and the owner of Code 3 Contracting, a company dedicated to hiring military veterans and firefighters. He also serves as a committee member for Guns N Hoses and actively sponsors charitable events, including golf tournaments honoring fallen police officers like Michael Langsdorf, as well as many other tournaments and community causes.
