Prime Video to stream 'A Different Breed' dog docuseries with St. Louis event

ST. LOUIS—Pet supplies brand Purina, headquartered in St. Louis, is sponsoring a nine-episode documentary series entitled A Different Breed which gives viewers a behind the scenes look into the world of competitive canine sports. It will stream exclusively in the US on Prime Video starting on August 18. 

The show follows 18 competitive dogs and their handlers as they train for and compete at the Purina Pro Plan Incredible Dog Challenge, a competition that lets dogs showcase their agility and other skills in timed races.  The show will end with the National Finals hosted at Purina Farms outside St. Louis. The Dog Challenge has been taking place for more than 25 years.   

"Launching A Different Breed allows us to showcase the awe-inspiring feats of canine competition alongside the heartwarming stories and unbreakable bonds we at Purina have witnessed and celebrated for decades with the Incredible Dog Challenge," Eric Willis, Chief Marketing Officer at Purina said in a PR release

Willis added that Purina is excited about showcasing the deep connections between the dogs and their handlers.    

"We're very proud to bring these stories to more consumers across the U.S., spotlighting what fuels the passion and energy of our canine competitors and their human handlers," Willis said.
