Power outage in South San Diego after crane hits utility line
(FOX 5/KUSI) — A crane came into contact with a utility line early Tuesday morning in South San Diego, leaving nearly 1,800 customers without electricity.
The incident happened around 6:15 a.m. near the intersection of Orville Street and Sweetwater Road, close to Jamacha Blvd. and Highway 125.
A representative from SDG&E told FOX 5/KUSI that the vehicle impacted a distribution line and no people were injured.
SDG&E's outage map on its website lists an outage affecting 1,739 customers in the area of Paradise Hills, Syline and Bay Terraces.
The representative said that once the local infrastructure is isolated, crews can work to restore power to the area.
The company's website said power was expected to be restored around 9:30 a.m.
