Power outage at Ameristar Casino, elsewhere in St. Charles
ST. CHARLES, Mo. – A small transformer fire caused a power outage at Ameristar Casino and along the St. Charles riverfront on Sunday.
According to a St. Charles Fire Department spokesperson, the casino switched to diesel generators for power, which kicked a lot of black smoke into the air.
The casino was able to take care of the transformer fire. No fire engines were dispatched to the casino.
St. Charles Police were at the casino to direct customers out of the casino.
The fire department confirmed that the transformer fire also cut power throughout the city.
