Post Labor Day cleanup event at Belmont Park marks launch of Love SD Campaign
SAN DIEGO (FOX5/KUSI)-- Even after the Labor Day weekend commences, the festivities continue in San Diego, and some events are taking place for a good cause.
The nonprofit organization I Love a Clean San Diego is hosting a post-Labor Day cleanup event at Belmont Park from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, complete with live music, opportunities to win prizes, and above all, a chance to help keep America's Finest City tidy.

In addition to the tunes and swag, volunteers at the Love SD Cleanup-Belmont Park event will also receive a free "LOVE SD" shirt and fresh fruit courtesy of Jimbo's Fresh Fruit store.
You can register to volunteer for the event online and sign up individually or as part of a group. Volunteers should wear comfortable clothing, closed-toe shoes, and apply plenty of sunscreen for the cleanup activities. Staff will provide everything else needed for participation.
It is also advised to bring a couple of bottles of water, as temperatures could be in the high 70s or low 80s.
After the event, staff will sort and dispose of the collected litter.
The Love SD Cleanup-Belmont Park event marks the kickoff of a seasonal cleanup series campaign hosted by I Love a Clean San Diego. The Love SD Campaign, an eight-month initiative, aims to mobilize thousands of San Diego residents to take local action to help build a sustainable future.
