Police investigating fatal shooting in north St. Louis

ST. LOUIS - A man was killed Friday morning after a shooting in north St. Louis.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD), the shooting occurred around 9 a.m. on the 2900 block of N. Kingshighway Boulevard in north St. Louis' Kingsway East neighborhood.

Authorities responded to the scene after receiving a call for a shooting shortly after 9 a.m., SLMPD said. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 50 year-old man on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds.

The man was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment but later succumbed to his injuries. An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
